my background

Hello. I’m an actor and writer that is able to travel for work. I grew up in a suburb of St. Louis called Florissant. After college, I performed in storefront theatres and in independent films, which is how I received my SAG card. I continued training in improv at Second City and iO Chicago and studied the Meisner Technique as well. Along with indie films, I love acting in new works and dark comedies in the smaller, black box theatres. I’m drawn to roles full of humor and pain that the audience can relate to and stories where we feel a shared sense of humanity. In my free time, I volunteer at UCAN and in the N. Lawndale community and see a lot of stand-up comedy. I have this site because I love acting and welcome offers to work. Thank you for visiting.

Feeding The Moonfish

Resistance Theatre, Chicago, IL

“What holds the show together is newcomer Leslie Zang's stunningly deft and heartbreaking portrait of teenage misery and desperation. Though she repeats certain mannerisms, Zang demonstrates an incredibly promising raw talent and charisma, making you strain to hear her even under the most difficult circumstances.”

“Zang essentially carries the dramatic tension of the production, particularly in the first act. Her scenes as the mentally troubled young woman are sobering, alarming stuff.”

“The show’s true power, however, is evident when the title character commands our attention, revealing an amazing piece of history that paints a human face on the development of the science of the mind.”
